Question: What's the best way to investigate an online home business to see if it's legitimate?

I have the company EIN #. Have phone numbers and gotten a return call but uneasy about giving up too much info (ss#, banking info, etc...). I've check the BBB but they're not registered. Any suggestions?

The legitimate home businesses stopped hiring in 2007. Only the scammers and spammers are left. Avoid them all. There are 200 of these online businesses opening every day. They take advantage of all the people who have been hurt by the recession. Try ripoffreport.com ( I don't work for them and the site is free to use).
